Since yesterday I was checking , cause I felt that something is not right. And I was reading your posts and I was trying to compare it with my mail. Anyway, the biggest question for me is how to stop this scam in my country cause this fake job is posted in one of the best site for jobs and people are ready to pay (as they payed before !) money to anybody only to find a better job.

Re: Belhaven Brewery scam

See my comments to Bogdan.

The language used in your message is fairly pompous and is an indication that this is a scam.

Anyway, any recruiter will want signed hard copies of a contract. A scanned version will not be acceptable. They won't give you a physical address to send signed copies to as they have no address they can use. An address makes it even easier for the police to track them down.

The real phone number for Belhaven is: 0845 6075325
Their address is:

The Belhaven Group
Spott Road
Dunbar
East Lothian
EH42 1RS
Scotland

You can check their details on the Companies House website: http://wck2.companieshouse....

(See attached screen dump)

Please report this scam to Action Fraud (http://www.actionfraud.poli...)
as the police can trace who owns the phone numbers they use and shut them down. Did you have a face to face interview? Did you meet someone from the brewery who asked you a lot of questions? Have you been told more about the job? I bet you have not met anyone who interviewed you. Right?

Companies in the EU will not hire someone based just on a CV that was emailed over. As employment laws are very strict and employees very difficult to fire once they're hired, companies tend to be extremely careful when it comes to hiring. It would cost them a lot of money in case they need to fire someone. They will make sure they will interview candidates, often more than once.

If you just sent your CV and they then responded by sending you a contract, you can bet it is a scam. They often make you believe you have a job waiting for you, so that you will do whatever they ask you later on, as you don't want to risk losing your newly found "job". They will tell you that you, unfortunately, you need to pay some small administrative fee, document processing fee, work permit fee, or whatever fee they can think of. They will put the pressure on you by saying that you will lose the job if you don't pay. As we've seen from other people's experience these scammers can be really pushy and nasty.

Most people they target are desperate to find a job and will do whatever it takes to land the job. Even if it means bribing someone. What a lot of people do not realise is that in the EU you do not bribe people to get a job. This is highly illegal and when found out, the person receiving the bride will be taken to court and definitively lose their job.

Re: Belhaven Brewery scam

Hello,
Yesterday, I also recived an Employmen Agreement for production engineer job in Belhaven factory, but is strange because till now, they didn't ask me nothing about any acts (pasport, driving licence) or any money...what should I do...I'm thinking to continue this step until they will ask me money or copies of my documents.

Re: Belhaven Brewery scam

This is a fake and a scam. I am Marko and an Estonian citizen. I received similar offer by e-mail and answered. I got labor agreement and job description from an American company, a distributor of medical equipment and starting activity in EU. I checked their web page and all was wery real. They offered position as regional manager (business controller) and have one month trial period, after that a basic contract. I am now amazed, what is fake and what is real. Do you have any comments.

Re: Belhaven Brewery scam

Dear sir,
Thank u very much for your gud guidance.

Re: Belhaven Brewery scam

To get an idea how scammers work, read through the various posts on our blog. The main thing that identifies them is that they always request money for fees. European recruiters do not request money. It is illegal and highly suspect if they do ask for money. The employer normally pays any fees required.

Scammers often also ask for copies of passports, driving licences and other official documents. They use this to scam financial institutions into handing over money (in your name, as they have copies of your documents) and burden you with the mess they create.

They often use plural forms for scam websites, i.e. they copy an original site, say "bank.com" and use "banks.com" for their scam. You can often check this via whois.org, where you can see when a site was registered. If it is recent and the owners of a site have nothing in common with the original site's details, then you most likely have a scam on your hands.

Re: Belhaven Brewery scam

Dear sir, how we can identify is it fake or real.plz reply me about gud procedure to confirm real or fake.
Thank u

Re: MyEurojobs.com spam

We've previously written a piece on job spam and provided some tips:

http://blog.spamfighter.com...

Re: MyEurojobs.com spam

Hi Milena,

Could you forward the raw header to me, so we can make sure this stops?

Re: MyEurojobs.com spam

I have just got an e-mail from them .

Re: Jobs with UK work permit attached

John.

Re: Jobs with UK work permit attached

Thank you.

Re: Belhaven Brewery scam

Companies contacting you out of the blue, sending you a contract? This will almost certainly be a scam. No company in Europe will offer you a job without a proper interview and following proper procedures. The main issue is that you will need to be in one of the industries and professions earmarked by European governments as crucial to their economies, in order to even have a chance of obtaining a work permit.

Europe is now only letting in highly specialised professionals, who earn substantially more than the average European, as each European country is fighting extremely high unemployment levels.

Re: Belhaven Brewery scam

I've called the avaible number, he just said that i need to sign the agreement

Re: Belhaven Brewery scam

Why would it be a mistake to forward it to trustable companies?

Re: Belhaven Brewery scam

Can you send me the agreement en employment documents on my mail: oemedali2012@hotmail.com i will recogdnize the documents for sure untill than i hope you want make any mistakes in forwarding to on trustable companies
